Jabberwocky - On display!

I am so very very pleased with how this book turned out! Although the maze shape was at times extremely difficult to work with it turned out to be the perfect shape, and displays beautifully.

NEWS! To celebrate I've finally re-opened my etsy shop after being on vacation mode for months. It only has a few pieces in it at the moment, but I will add more as I become a little more settled.

Tell your Alice in Wonderland loving friends to buy the book!

Here are plenty of photos, enjoy.

News from the Grey Side of Life

I love mail! Especially when it's a brand-new sketchbook. My soon-to-be filled entry for the 2012 Sketchbook Project I wrote about just arrived! Many photos are to come as I start filling it. I choose the theme 'The Grey Side of Life.'
I put this design up for sale on redbubble.com. Buy one! Tell your friends! It's a great site for t-shirts so I'm going to start putting up plenty more designs and artwork. Just as soon as I get to it...

I learnt a little about createspace.com this weekend, and I'm looking into using it to publish copies of The Tell-Tale Heart. This will be a huge amount of work, so it will be long-term project preparing all the images. Please let me know if there would be any kind of market for it, because I don't want to go through all of that for nothing!

A Quick Update

I'm afraid I don't have any photos for you, but I thought, now that I have access to the internet, I should give a quick update of what I've been doing. I'm currently going into week seven of a fifteen week Basic Military Officer Training course with the Canadian Forces, and so far have been having a terrific time. I'm confined to base this weekend, unfortunately, but last week we got out to Montreal and I had an absolutely amazing time. I hope everyone gets to visit at least one in their life. I spent so much money in the little boutiques and ate nothing but pastries, hot chocolate (and by this I mean basically liquid chocolate, not the powered watery junk), and poutine. I've never been so thankful the constant workouts they make us do! I spent an incredible amount of money in the little stores on Saint-Denis and wandered all over downtown. Next week is my brithday and I'm hoping I'll get to go back and visit the art galleries and sleep in a real bed again. Nothing against the horrible ones here, but I've had quite enough of hospital corners and want a nice fluffy blanket to curl up in.

'Scrap' book and some big news

First, I must apologize for not posting anything in about three weeks! Life has been a little crazy and I just didn't get much done as, unfortunately, I had other stuff to take care of instead. Specifically, my enrollment date for the Air Force finally got here and I and will be leaving shortly for training, so there is much to do to prepare. I'm done work now though, so I do have a little time for some side projects.

This book, as well as the ones I'm working on like it, is an effort to use the last bits of leather I have. I don't have quite enough for full books and don't want to make hundreds of miniature ones, so I came up with this design. I quite like the look of it, though I think I'll use gromets to attach the next ones because sewing takes an excruciatingly long time.

I'm not sure if you can tell, but the light leathers are all a little different.

Coming to a Hotel Sask Near You

OK, so there is only one Hotel Sask. Point is, there's a new gift store/coffee shop opening up (reopening?)and it's going to feature some of my books and paintings. This is impressive people, it's where the Queen and Prime Minister stay, and puts me on a level with some of the other fabulous things available there. Like Bushwakker beer. mmmmm.

I'm going to be taking a few of the things in my Etsy store, so things will be changing quite a bit in the next week or so as I get organized. I will also be making some postcard books and moleskine covers to round out what I bring and have a nice selection.

Oh, and one other things will be featured. The Tell-Tale Heart! It will be finished later this evening. Stay tuned for many many photos. If I can stop staring at the cover long enough to finish, that is. Yup, it's that nice.
